    Default popped primers?

a friend of mine has a stevens 22-250 that keeps having the primers pop off of the ammo... he says that it's happened with a few kinds of ammo, not just cheap ammo. Any ideas what is happening here?

He sent it in once because the internal magazine feed lips were bent out and rounds wouldn't feed right... doubt it is related, but since I don't know about the first, I can't guarantee it isn't related to the second.

Popped primers usually is an indication of excessive pressure. If this is happening with factory rounds there is something other then the ammo causing this to happen. If it is happening with reloads there could be other problems. ( brass that has been subjected to high pressure, improper load data, to name a few ).
