Race car pics
I kinda picked up a "job" as a "assistant" track photog at the local race tracks (asphault & dirt). These were taken along with about 800 more at the dirt track over the last two weekends. I'm hitting both tracks this weekend. I did a little editing but they still need cropped. Enjoy:

Re: Race car pics
That would be a pretty cool weekend job to have. My friends and I used to go to Tri-City Speedway in Venango County a lot growing up. Dirt track racing is pretty fun to watch.

Looks good, man! Dirt track is a lot of fun...my Dad is building a E-Mod class race car right now. it's coming along, but still needs a ton of work! With a little luck, maybe he'll let me race it a few times!

Re: Race car pics
It's a heck of a good time being there and a pretty cool job to have. But everything gets so dirty.... including camera gear. I also went out to a youth soccer game tuesday night. That was alot of fun too, I'm hoping the soccer moms will want pics of their kids. They seemed pretty receptive to the idea. This saturday I'll be at both tracks (if it doesn't rain). I'm being positioned on the outside of the asphault track to shoot thru a hole in the wall and I'll be up in the flag stand. Should be cool. As a racing fan it's kinda weird though. I have a really good time there shooting but you don't get to watch the races per say. You have to watch for the picture and watch you don't get run over. In all honesty it's alot harder than I thought it was going to be. Those cars are going pretty fast and if their comming at you they are most likely out of control. You have to keep your head on a swivel thats for sure.

I got a bumper sticker that says "IF THERE ISN"T DIRT IN YOUR BEER, YOU'RE NOT AT A REAL RACE"
The smell of burning alcohol, dirt in the beer, the sound of the engines.. Making me want to make a trip to Lernerville.
