MADE IN USA-Glock 19

Picked up this lnib USA made on the slide and barrel,Are there any pros or negatives ? I paid $300 Buyer needed fast $$$ and also WWB 9MM 1,000 rounds for an additional $300,I know I got a great deal but just wondering Is quality the same ? I prefer Made in USA anyway. MDT

The USA made G19 were made in both.

I have a gen 4 USA and it is just like the Austrian models. I see no differences other than the made in USA and the Georgia proof marks.

Glad to know. I was holding a G17 made in USA and I almost bought it. Them not taking cc kept me from getting it.

I prefer made in Austria but I believe all newly made Glocks are equal. I don't believe either uses the tennifer process any more.

Its a Gen 3,Finish I would say is maybe a bit dull ? but still functions like a glock should.If its not a tennifer finish ? what is the finish now used ? MDT

"Tennifer" refers to the heat treatment on the slide and it is a trade name, just like "Melonite" is the trade name. Both refer to basically the same ferritic nitrocarburizing process (aka salt bath nitriding) which case hardens the steel and adds rust resistance. Glock does not use that "tennifer" name anymore (german trade name) but the process the current slides go through is essentially the same.

The finish they use now (the more gray color finish) does not have anything to do with tennifer. However the new finish does seem to wear quicker than the black finish.

Put some rounds through the new 19 and see how she shoots.

My girlfriend just picked up a gen 4 17 today. It's pretty nice. I'm a little jealous.
