    Default Bullet Cam?

I came across this story. And it showed this pic.

That picture reminded me of the 'Pill Cam' used by doctors to see inside the digestive tract.
So do you think a small pill like cam could be inserted into a round and fired from a firearm? Some of the requirements IMHO should be:
1.Small, at least .45. But smaller calibers would be better.
2.High frame rate. Faster the better. Pill cams only take a pic a second, but I think it can be pushed up.
3.Tough. It will be fired from a gun.

    Any thing else I missed?

Sturdy to survive take-off, and cheap because of the landing

Maybe it would be easier using a 12 gauge shotgun. You could use a much larger cam. plus you would need a soft target so as to not destroy the pics.

That may be the hard part.

I wonder how many G's a .45 pulls from ignition to barrel clear?

317,500 g. Assuming constant acceleration (which it isn't but for our elementary purposes we will assume constant acceleration while in the barrel.

    An incredibly substantial force.

    That would be cool.

0 to 3000 ft per sec faster than an eye blink?? There is no technology, today, that would let us 'ride a bullet'. Anything you put there would be crushed, instantly. NASCAR cameras can't even take a rollover or a wall hit.

I do like the idea of strapping a chimp to a nice size rocket and give him a helmet cam...preferably, right to the nose cone.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Ok that is a huge number. 1000000 g. So a .5 oz .45acp bullet would feel like 31,250 pounds at the moment of ignition. Where did you get it? And that would be a full charge. What if you used less powder? What if you used a slower burning powder? Like more a push with a hand rather than a kick with a foot.

    You are confusing some physics.

That is the g force the bullet experiences.

    And I corrected it to 317,500 G's

The force that the gun experiences has many variables mainly the force of gas, the push back of the case, and the fact that there are slides and springs and weight of gun, magazine and cartridges. For the differential g forces that you receive we would have to do more calculations than I care to do at this time.

But the acceleration rearward is measurably in Multiples of G
