    Default Sales for parents

    Hi folks,

This is probably an easy one, but I could use some direction-

My mother would like to sell off some firearms, but isn't really in a condition to run to a FFL to do the transfers each time. Is it as simple as her transferring them to me, and I sell them for her? is a bill of sale enough for the transfer between her and I?

    Thanks.

No transfer are required between a parent and sibling as long as you are both pa residents.

letter of the law states INTRAstate transfers between parent child requires no paperwork. She hands them to you and that's done

What's tricky here is that you are not simply looking to transfer them to you. You are proxy for the sale/transfer to other people and giving her the profit from the sales. It's really a mental/intention scenario

Personally, it's no ones business. The guns were all given to you and now they are yours. End of story
If you choose to sell them, your business.
If you then choose to give your mom money, your business

I wouldn't present this to buyers or an FFL as anything other than the above

Since you all answered so quickly, I have another question along the same lines...

I bought a handgun through here a year or so ago, and the seller had his wife show up for the transfer. Is that legal because they are married, or can I do the swap for a lady friend of mine if she sells a handgun? I don't remember this young lady doing any kind of paperwork, other than collecting the cash. It also seemed like the person doing the transfer was acquainted with her, if that matters.

    thanks.

It was only legal because they were married.
