    Default Carry in a suit?

So I just got my first ever suit.
Went to Boscovs and had it altered a little, sleeves taken up a bit and same with the pants.

I have some holsters that are tuck-able but even with a small snub 38 special I get major printing in my jacket.

    Any ideas?

See attached for my new suit

I carry my lcp in a pocket holster in my jacket inside pocket.

Or you could try an ankle holster for your 38.

I would say it has got to be the holster. I carry a J-frame under a t-shirt without detection.

I'm not used to wearing pants at this true waist line, that also is making it hard to conceal,
I have tried 3 different holsters...
A Pocket, A Galco tuck, A Desantis Tuck.

It seems no matter what angle I put it at it prints.

Should I go to a shop and have some extra cloth sewn in or something?

I dont want to do a shoulder rig in case I want to take the jacket off, Hmm :/

    Two things.

One, your shirt cuffs should show about a 1/4 inch.

Two, find a tailor and have him alter the jacket to fit over the holster.

My tailor in Virginia did work for Secret Service agents and he told me that he once altered a suit "to fita over a machine-ah gun." Yeah, he was from Italy.

My current tailor (also from Italy) can take a $200 suit and make it look like a $1,000 suit with a nip here and a tuck there.

I may have to go up to the next size dress shirt,
I dont want the sleeves taken up any more, if I do when I fold or move my arms it will rise too high.

I took it to a quick fit alterations shop and had the alterations done for $40 because I needed the suit ready for saturday, Im heading off to a wedding.

Ill have to see how quick i can get the sleeves fixed.

+1 on that. It would have been easier had you worn the gun and holster to the fitting you already had, but that is what it is.

I carry in a suite all the time. It is all about being fitted while wearing what you want it to cover, be that a beer belly or a gun

Well the store i bought it from and the alterations person I took it to could not do that and they do not "officially" allow firearms on mall property

Get a LCP and a pocket holster! I refused to go unarmed on my wedding day so it was best option.

You are most likely printing because 1. Your J-frame is fairly wide at the cylinder or 2. your holster may be adding too much bulk depending on its construction.

My EDC is a KelTec PF9. I got it because it is not only a very reliable pistol, but it is also about the slimmest 9mm out. I bougbt a High Noon Holsters tuckable IWB for it for dressy occasions like you refer to. The holster was too fat for me the way it was originally constructed due to a second layer of leather stitched around the top of the holster to make it more rigid. I cut the stitching and removed the second layer and the holster is much more comfortable now.

I just recently attended a banquet with my daughter during which I wore some tan slacks and a sport shirt and tie after the coat came off and this setup was essentially invisible except for the clip for the holster. I'll typically move my cell phone case to my strong side near the holster and that serves to mask the clip.

Never had any issues with this setup.
