Thank you for clarifying that. The officer still fired at least 3 times after the gun was tossed. Also, this officer was involved in 3 non deadly shootings. I wonder what the percent of officers that don't even draw their gun in their whole carrier is vs. having been involved in 3 shootings.

I have a question how is an officer going to see what was thrown at that distance ? Even with 20/20 vision how would the officer know OT wasn't any of a number of things. The dumbass had a gun either way and tossed it so I wonder what the full story is on this.

Attempting to give a damn.....failed.
Slide on the tossed gun was locked. It could have been tossed because it was out of ammo, and not because the perp was surrendering. Not that I'd expect anyone to make that call in the moment. It could have been any object thrown, or there could be more weapons.
