Edging up to that personal attack line, aren't you? Seeing how much you can insult me personally without getting dinged?

    Anyway.

I didn't say that no one should shoot unjacketed lead in a Glock. That would be a subjective opinion that we could argue about, productively or otherwise.

I said that Glock says you shouldn't shoot lead in a Glock. The fact that Glock says so is true (I quoted their words saying so), whether or not what they're saying is correct.

See, now you are just outright lying. I did offer a disclaimer in my first post. I'll post it again, because you clearly missed it. Don't screw up your reloads. Don't be an incompetent reloader. Don't be a lazy reloader. All of this should go without saying, because reloading just about any cartridge in any gun the wrong way can have disastrous effects.

Maybe you can explain why you don't think my first post wasn't a token disclaimer. Oh wait, you wanted me to mention that Glock doesn't recommend shooting reloads, lead, plated, or jacketed. Well, that's because all manufacturers recommend the same. It should go without saying.

I'm wondering if you are just feeling argumentative for some reason today. I seem to recall agreeing with most of your posts over the years, but for whatever reason, you seem to be having some weird Don Quixote windmill moment here today.

Edit: look at what I was originally disagreeing with. The poster was making blanket, absolute, statements that were untrue. Not sure why you can't see that.

Look at what I was originally responding to - the issue of lead bullets.

I'm not lying about your lack of disclaimer; read my whole sentence. I wanted you to mention that Glock, the manufacturer of the firearms in question, expressly warns not to shoot unjacketed bullets in their guns. You know, the thing you were saying it's fine to do.

I didn't say anything about reloads per se in my first post on this subject, I pointed out the language about unjacketed lead on the Glock FAQ.

And no, I don't think that "goes without saying", especially when you are saying people are giving "bad info" for saying not to use lead.

Why do you and dkf both keep attacking my character ("mr internet happy feelings hero", "touchy feely", "Don Quixote")? I have opinions about lots of stuff. I often post them. Sometimes people disagree. Isn't that like 98% of what happens on the internet (porn excluded)?

It's funny that you keep avoiding my points about millions of lead bullets being fired through Glocks over the years, and that people shoot untold thousands of them through Glocks each and every day all around the world. THAT'S MY POINT! It can, and is done all the time, safely and successfully. You are avoiding this fact, and that's all my point was in the very first post of mine in this thread was. I don't care what Glock states in their FAQ. Get it? No, you don't. Obviously. It has already been mentioned that they do this because of liability issues, NOT because of any safety issue. They know that there are some sloppy reloaders out there, and that there are some lazy people that don't clean the lead out of the barrels. It's as simple as that.

And stop with the BS about character attack. I clearly didn't call you a name, but I did mention you were having a Don Quixote moment, and I stand by that, because you keep ignoring my points, and seem to be attacking imaginary giants.

The whole reason you even entered into this thread is so blatantly obvious yet you still can't see it. Just trying to help out buddy.

If you feel so violated and attacked please feel free to contact the mods about it or report posts.

Since this is apparently important to you I'll address it directly: Yes, they do. Which is why if your post had been "Glock says you shouldn't do it, but there's strong evidence that it's fine to do" I wouldn't have had any problem with it.

Here's my first post in response to yours:
I realize you two (and others) have a different opinion, but the official line from Glock is that they don't recommend putting unjacketed lead bullets through their firearms. It's fine to disagree, but I don't think it's proper to call it "bad info" when someone is repeating a manufacturer's recommendation.
That doesn't seem like a particularly quixotic foray to me, but then it's always easier to see faults in others than in ourselves.

I do admit that when I can't convince someone to see things my way I have trouble letting that go. Having offered my opinion I probably should have bailed on this thread a page or two ago. But, you know, someone was wrong on the internet.

I don't think he was referring to you PKspawn, just the OP. I wasn't reffering to you anyway.

What you have there looks like a pretty classic case head failure and the Glock responded the way it usually does in that case. Blows the mag out the bottom.
