I didn't find this posted anywhere else, and hopefully this section is a good spot.

I'm glad the Dauphin County Sheriff is attempting to reunite firearms with their owners. Instead of destroying them (unless the firearms are junk), why not auction then off and put the money towards a gun safety demonstrations or an organization to help troubled youth??!!

The Dauphin County Sheriff's Office has custody of a number of firearms and other weapons seized before December 31, 2005. We have attempted to locate the owners without success. To file a claim for the weapons contact Cpl. Jim Shade at the Sheriff's Office prior to March 28, 2014. After that date, by Order of the Court, the weapons will be destroyed.
