    Default Are airweights/airlites any good?

I've been looking at S&W airlite revolvers, specifically the 351 PD. What are your opinions about this or other lightweight revolvers?

I guess it depends on your intended purpose. I have a 442 and like it for carry. It's not a target gun, by any means, but .38 Spl. in a short barrel makes a fine self-defense gun.

I'm not sure why you'd want a revolver chambered in .22 Mag unless it was going to be a "woods" gun.

A 637 has been my EDC for years. Love it! And they are more accurate than you may think. Real good trigger too. You will get hooked on the simplicity and reliability of a wheel gun real quick.

I would highly recommend the 442, 340PD or 340M&P as carry guns. Super light, super reliable pieces.

Really nothing bad to say about airweight Smiths. Recoil will not be pleasant, but it is designed to be carried and not as a target gun.

I have the 360PD and it is a great little gun with a ton of punch. Heavy loads hurt to shoot, but lighter 38 specials are pretty fun. I think it weighs 12.5 ounces empty. It was also pretty expensive due to the titanium and scandium.

I don't own one but I want one. I have only heard great things about these guns.

They are great firearms. I don't know much about the 351 but if it's anything like the others it's a winner.
I don't buy into its a carry gun and not a target gun. In fact I'm calling BS. if it's your carry gun I don't care what it is you better be shooting it. It doesn't have to be fired every day or even every week but once or twice a month is not out of the question.
Back to the original question I prefer the grip of the smith air weights but prefer the Ruger LCR in just about every other aspect.

I have a 638 and it's not bad shooting 38sp. 15oz and can still fire single action, I love it.

A friend has a 642. Good solid carry gun. I have shot it a good amount, and while snappy, I don't find it unpleasant or unmanageable. I would have no problem carrying one.
