Who is up for some Crow hunting
I want to give crow hunting a try and wanted to see if anybody around the Carbon, Monroe area wanted to go. I was out a few weeks ago to test a yote caller and put out a decoy rabbit and started to call and about 10-15 crows came in really close and a couple flew right down to the decoy. Cabin fever is setting in with no hunting or range time and figured this might be a remedy.

Re: Who is up for some Crow hunting
Not trying to be facetious here, but why hunt crows? Just for something to shoot at?

It gets you back in the woods, great shooting runs, and fun! I can get out this upcoming weekend, Friday-Sunday , and will scout out some areas. Anyone??

Crow kabobs are the best. I like to go crow, rat, crow, rat, crow. Ofcorse there is groundcrowraten, where you stuff a ground hog with a crow stuffed with rat, yum! Best eaten febuary second.

Re: Who is up for some Crow hunting
Fair enough... I dont believe that I would be too interested in eating crow, so that means I will not shoot them. Of course, I would enjoy to hunt them if i knew they were going to someone who would eat them... Sadly I am on the other side of the state, so no go for me...

Understood. I have tried crow with many other critters and would if I needed to. I have tried a lot of critters through my Army career...throating a goat in the Afghan desert was the tastiest.
Shooting crows will be good practice for pheasant and doves though.

Re: Who is up for some Crow hunting
I went out the last two weekends and had alot of fun. The first weekend I went out with friend who is seasoned with the crows and knocked down a couple and last weekend I took my oldest son out which he had a blast. We didn't get any but we had fun and he has more respect for the black birds. We just got to wait and not shoot at the scout bird. Smart little things.
