looking for a cheap snubby
saw 2 inexpensive snub 38's today at a gun shop. looking to get one to just carry while fishing/camping. leaning towards the EAA due to it having rubber grips and it looks like a beefier frame. anyone have either of these? the EAA was $255 and the RIA was $225

Re: looking for a cheap snubby
I'm pretty sure that the Windicator in .38 has an aluminum or pot metal frame , the .357 models use a stronger steel frame.
I've read online that EAA customer service is NO fun to deal with, people tend to love treatment from RIA.
Bud's has been selling both for years, check their reviews.Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass.

I'd go with RIA just because they have an awesome lifetime warranty.

Re: looking for a cheap snubby
I wasn't looking for a snubby but after seeing the price I thought why not. Good reviews of both online. Will likely get the RIA and put on rubber grips since the customer service seems much better

Re: looking for a cheap snubby
We have the RIA and outside of the finish there is nothing to complain about. Hogue rubber grips for the Colt Detective Special will slide right and fit well.
For the price the RIA pistols are a steal and seem to hold up just as good as the more expensive ones.Courage is being scared to death--but saddling up any way. John Wayne

Re: looking for a cheap snubby
I went back today planning on buying the RIA and looked at the paperwork for warranty info and it was for 1 year. So I looked at the EAA and that paperwork said lifetime warranty so I went with the EAA. I may still pick up the RIA in the future. Shooters Supplies in West Middlesex, Pa
