Top 10 Handguns in the U.S.
From the Washington Times (http://www.washingtontimes.com/multi...p-10-handguns/) we get "The most prolific makes of handguns manufactured in the U.S., based on production statistics provided to ATF."
You can go, page-by-page, through all 18 pictures posted, but here's their list:
10. Glock - 23,752 produced in 2011.
9. Kahr - 55,060 produced in 2011.
8. Hi-Point - 78,300 produced in 2011.
7. Kel Tec - 90,177 produced in 2011.
6. Beretta - 101,755 produced in 2011.
5. Kimber - 104,303 produced in 2011.
4. Taurus - 114,132 produced in 2011.
3. Sig Sauer - No quantity provided.
2. Smith & Wesson - No quantity provided.
1. Ruger - 610,925 produced in 2011 (half of which were 9mm).
So, if you're a Glock snob, apparently you just barely made it into the top ten.
If you badmouth Hi-Point, they almost outproduced Glock and Kahr combined.
Colt didn't even make the top ten.

Mass does not compare to quality. Your info shows production numbers. I've never heard anyone brag up their pistol by saying how many were made. The fact that Colt isn't in the list just makes me want them more.

I think a large amount of glocks were still coming in as Austria made so maybe this is why..
not that it matters much.

The title of this thread is a joke. As for the actual numbers? Most produced means..what? Yeah, they're are more nitwits in the world putting cheapness as main decision factor for firearm purchase. And this means a Taurus is a top ten firearm? In sales, not quality.

And as the Red Army showed the Wehrmacht during the Second World War, quantity is indeed a quality all its own.
I just offered what was posted. How everyone interprets such is an individual decision.

Re: Top 10 Handguns in the U.S.
So two of the top 3 manufacturers by number provided no quantity. Therefore, the evidence that puts them into the Top 10 is... where? Not to mention that the data is over two years outdated.
Personally, I find it rather hard to believe that Sig outproduced Glock...
