Default Woman beaten in Upper Darby.....

I wonder what excuse the media will have for this behavior? Maybe they can blame the economy and high gasoline prices.

U.D. police: Homeless quartet attacks, robs township woman
    By Linda Reilly, Times Correspondent

UPPER DARBY — Four suspected homeless people, three women and a man, attacked an Upper Darby woman in broad daylight taking her money, SEPTA tokens and cell phone, police said.

“We got two of them and we know who the other two are,” police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said, adding that arrest warrants will be issued. “We will keep our streets safe.”

Jorgieanna Camille Witzer, 21, and Chester “Skittles” Wilczynski Jr., 24, were identified by the victim and jailed for aggravated assault and related offenses for the brutal attack 3:10 p.m. Tuesday on the first block of Garrett Road.

Wanted for their involvement is a woman named Fran, Witzer’s mother, and an older woman named Gloria, police said.

“These scumbags roughed the victim up pretty good,” Chitwood said, adding that the woman suffered injuries to her head, arms and elbows. “These four homeless individuals attacked the woman and have no shame and no concern for the value of human life. They wanted to rip this woman off and they beat her up.”

The foursome knocked her to the ground, slammed her face and head on the concrete and kicked and stomped her repeatedly with their feet, according to police.

They took $28, seven SEPTA tokens and a cell phone from her pockets and a black leather jacket and fled down Market Street toward the 69th Street Terminal, police said.

The victim, 46, of the 200 block of Hampden Road, knew the nicknames of her assailants and gave them to Officer Stephen Ford, who recognized the names from previous contacts.

“Ford knows everybody in that neighborhood,” Chitwood said. “And (Detective) Jeff Thrash used to be a SEPTA cop. They went into the terminal and with an assist from SEPTA police located two of the individuals.”

Witzer and Wilczynski were arraigned on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, theft, reckless endangerment and related offenses and jailed in lieu of posting $50,000 bail.

More gun control would prevent crimes like this.
