    Default Glock 23 40 S&W

Can someone tell me if this is a good gun? I can get one that has 200 rounds shot through it for $425.00. The gun looks new...

    Thanks,
    Mike

I had a Glock 23 way back when they first came out. Of all the guns I've owned, it was second only to the S&W 1076 for being unreliable. OTOH the Model 19, the 23's 9mm twin, never failed me and is, IMHO, the perfect size and weight for a defensive and general purpose carry gun.

They've clearly gotten whatever problems the Model 23 (unless mine was just a lemon, every company has their bad days) had fixed. Glocks have a rep as some of the most reliable, durable guns you can buy today, and many many police departments agree. Too bad they feel like a brick in my hand. Otherwise I'd still be buying Model 19s one after another if I managed to wear one out.

The Model 23 was the second glock that I bought. I've easily run 2-3k though it a year for the last 3 years. I have yet to have to replace a part (other than magazines) and have had minimal problems. I currently use it as a CC/OC and would/do trust my life with it. That's a decent price for one. If I were looking to pick up another one I would easily jump on that deal.
    Hope that helps ya.

great gun! it was my first pistol and I still use it for cc, it's got about 900 rnds through it (I shoot my 9mm more often because of ammo price)and have yet to see a failure. I would jump on it.

Can't go wrong with a Glock! I've had mine for almost a year and have not had any jams. It's a solid pistol. .40 is a nice calibre to go with as well. The price sounds decent...about $100 less than new. I'd get it! Get the Blackhawk holster for it and you'll be GOOD 2 GO! I CC with mine all the time.

    Give this a shot.

Go for it! I've had mine for 12 years now after buying it used and used it for OC / CC and duty use. Never had a problem until someone loaded a mag full o nines into it but that's a whole other story... Sent it to Glock and it came back like brand new.

It was my first handgun, I have cc'd it for 2 years and have 3000 rounds through it. I just replaced the recoil spring ($5.00) because I was an idiot field stripping it.

I had an early model for about 2 years. I put about 3k of the cheapest nastiest crap ammo through it I could find and never had a misfire. I did have several squibs that dropped to the ground a couple feet out of the muzzle, but that was the ammo's fault, not the gun. It hurt when I sold it, but rent was due, and money was tight in college. I say go for it.
