I seem to have inherrited a Mossberg with a 2 shot clip. Very nice condition but just not me. Is there a market for these things? TIA

Sorry to say, but I would say No or Not really.......

I personally think bolt action shotguns are the least desirable shotguns ever sold (even over single shots!). The old ones were not known to be reliable and would jam when you needed them.

DISCLAIMER!!! If someone disagrees please give the OP an offer.

I have seen them for around $150 for fair to good condition and over $200 for nice ones. They still make bolt actions so I guess there still is a market out there. Their appeal comes from the fact they are cheap and you can keep them in less desirable locations than something fancier ie. truck and/or camp gun or a deer slug gun. The ones with full choke 30"+ barrels are considered goose guns. I have an old 20ga that works great for ground hogs with a magnum load of #4s; really lays 'em out. If you inherited it, take it out a few times to enjoy something someone was quite fond of in the past and maybe you'll enjoy it also. It's like the difference between a chevy and a caddy. They do the same thing, but one's pricier than the other. Hang onto and pass it down when your time comes.

The receivers were only tubing, but you can put a scope and slug barrel on it. Seems odd that it is a 3" chamber, is that what is stamped on it?

    Yep, it's a model 395KB C-LECT-CHOKE
Marked "Chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells"

The tubing receiver is just under 1/4" wall thickness. Like new, almost nothing through it.

I have a 20 gauge Model 185 with a C-lect choke. Nice gun. One thing not mentioned is that they are - at least my 20 gauge is - lighter than a comparable pump. I have used it for Trap - dont need a second shot - and heavy brush for grouse - dont get a second shot. Bought it for $100.
Carrying a single extra shot in the magazine, it is quite reliable. With a little practice, one can learn to cycle the bolt as quickly as cycling a pump.

A Mossberg 20 Ga bolt gun w/Select choke was my first firearm purchase at the age of 8. That would put it 50 some years ago. It was the best cared for gun I've ever owned & it served me well for many years. I got so good with it that I could operate it as fast as my rich friends could run their pump guns.

Yes. It is a pretty slick little gun for sure.
