    Default How about county parks?

Tonight me and my wife went out on a walk on the rail trail in New Freedom York County. I was CCing my glock 23. When crossing one of the roads they had a notice hanging on a gate listing things prohibited and in the middle of the list was weapons. I do have an ltcf and was wondering if a county park can enforce this. Can I be fined or just asked to leave the property?

You cannot be fined. You cannot be asked to leave the property.

Any county ordinances are preempted by state law (Section 6120) from regulating firearms in any manner (other than discharge of firearms).

Both could happen, but neither would stand up if legally challenged. It is a public place. "Regulate in any manner" includes asking you to leave the park, and is prohibited by §6120.

Get a pic of the sign and post - then hit your County Commissioners to have this illegal sign removed!!
