Default Have I finally shot out my glock barrel? Or is this a normal hexagonal bullet test?

I just hit the 3,000 round mark on my glock 30sf. Thought I'd perform a bullet test just to check and see. Here are the results.

Is this normal for the lock hexagonal rifling or is my barrel ready for a replacement? If you look closely you can see the round has about 2mm of travel before the throat of the brass rests on the crown of the barrel.

    A little help here guys!

    Thanks!

3,000? Not even close to shooting that barrel out.

    This.

Even if all 3K were +P, you're likely not even close.

I would be inclined to believe that the bullet doesn't hit .452 until it's almost in the case mouth. As said above, 3,000 isn't even close to shot out, ask again in another 27,000-47,000 rounds.

3000 rnds lol, it's not even broke in. My guess would be to start worrying when you approach the 100k mark.

It's just odd how low that bullet sits in the barrel. Most of my other semis don't sit more than 3/4 down in the barrel.

Should have mentioned the gun is a pd trade in. Thought I put that in the title. No clue how many they shot through it.

I have a G17 with probably close to 30k rounds fired and it's a tack driver. Glocks are known for long barrel life.

I would guess not many, most cop guns are not shot much, and something like a 30 would be fired even less.

Your cleaning techniques and products are more likely to wear out a modern barrel before the round count has any impact. I've put 3k rounds a year through some of mine and they aren't even close to showing wear that is of concern.
