    Default Altoona Indoor Range

Saw this ad in the current issue of the Bargain Sheet for Altoona Indoor Range. The address is 704 8th Ave, Altoona, "located beside the Outdoor City Guns." Is it new? I have not heard of either the range nor the gun shop next to it. Has anyone had any experience or review?

Also, it says "1 free $15 membership with this ad." Even paying the listed price, it is cheaper than the SGL range fee. Which sounds almost too good to be true... Wonder what the catch is (such as requiring members to shoot only ammo that it sells)?

The shop is under the 8th street bridge in Altoona. Last I heard they were "working with" city council so they could shoot within city limits.

That and they only had a lane or two open. Next time I'm up home I want to check it out just to see for myself.

Interesting.... the only review thus far is very positive. It is a bit far from me. But it is always good to have a new range open, especially an indoor range in central PA.

    Thanks for the info!

Very interesting, I might stop over one of these days when im in Altoona. I thought I had gone to every gun shop in the area.
Stupid kills. (But not often enough to make a real improvement.)

    Cool Re: Altoona Indoor Range

After reading about this new range/shop on here, my daughter and I went there on Saturday.
They let us check out the range, and then we both joined.
The people are all very nice and knowledgeable.
They have 6 shooting lanes, great setup, and clean. The shooting positions are set up at 25, 50 and 75 ft distances.
If you need ammo or targets, they have both available, as well as guns for rental.
We had a nice time and enjoyed it. Looking forward to going back.
In other words, I can highly recommend this range/shop.

    As always, stay safe.

Thanks for relating your experience, MrGlock45. I might have to drive out there to check it out in the spring/summer.

It is a little hard to find.
Turn down 9th ST., then at the stop sign make a right onto 8th Ave. Go another block or so and it's on the left.
Have a great time at the range.
