Ankle holster for a SW642
I am looking for an ankle holster for my SW 642. I am a LEO and need something that will be stay put while I am running or wrestling with a suspect. I have found only one other person that carries a backup weapon on their ankle. This person was using an Uncle Mikes ankle holster with a garter attachment. I am just not very fond of Uncle Mikes and perfer something of a higher quality. I am curious if anyone knows of a quality ankle holter.

Galco Ankle Glove. I don't wear it when in uniform because I wear boots that come above my ankle, therefore my 642 is carried in a vest holster.
When off-duty or in plain clothes, the 642 is carried as a BUG in the Galco. I've had the holster for about two years and it is extremely comfortable, so much so that I plan on getting one for my G26 too.
A side note; Unless you have skinny ankles, you might have to do what I did and get the expander for the ankle holster.

Galco Ankle Glove.
I used to carry a Colt Pony in mine.
All-day comfort and a quality product that will last many years.
I found that when wearing hiking boots (not tall hunting boots) the bottom of the holster would rest on the top of the boot keeping it from working its way down.
I never found the need to get the strap that goes around the calf, but I never needed to do any running either.

I use a desantis apache holster. Relatively inexpensive, somewhat comfortable, and very secure.

Cabelas sells a nice Galco Ankle Lite holster. We like them.

Alessi is the most comfortable and secure I've ever worn (but expensive). Do you wear boots or shoes on duty?

I'll second the Alessi. I used one daily for over 20 years before I gave it to a relative who didn't have much money. I bought another one and have been wearing it since ( almost 15 years). Still holds my 642 tight when worn. Highly recommended.

I'm very happy with my Aker Comfort Flex, easily the best ankle holster I've used in the last 20 years. Very comfortable and extremely secure.
