Default here is my first attempt at a holster

I did this last year before I deployed. The photos go in reverse order. I did waste a bit of leather; I didn’t use any pattern, just made it up as I went. I don’t like the color, I’m going to dye is darker and for the next one I think I will try some tooling. if anyone has any pointers for me I would apriciate it.

I would say that you should want to make it so that the trigger guard fits inside the holster.

looks to be an old west style pistol where you need to pull the trigger and pull back and drop the hammer

that's ok as long as it's single action ONLY.....never carry a Double Action revolver in it......

Looks good...I wish I had the patience and talent to do something like that.....

    And BTW......thanks for serving

Nice holster, very nice work. If you will coat it with neatsfoot oil and set it in the sun it will turn a darker color, this is the easiest and produces the most consistent results. The tanning process used will determine the color that you get. Herman Oak will normally turn a honey gold, the So. American import will turn a dusty rose. The dyeing of leather is an art, after 40 years in the saddle trade I still get a suprise now and then.
With the single action an exposed trigger is not a problem and is a common option.
If you have any questions PM me and I will give you free advice that is worth every penny that it costs.

    Thank You for your service.

Looks like a damn fine start to me! Good job.

I know exactly what you mean about being inspired by the Mernickle PS6.
