    Default Blast from the past

I was cleaning out a small closet, and I found this bx of .22 long rifle.
What got me was where it came from and the price. from .69 cents to .57 cents. Boy has times changed....

Yeah, times have changed is right. We all find stuff like that now and again. A few weeks ago I dug up a couple of boxes of .38 special with caldors prices tags for $4.99.

You ain't kidding! A couple months ago I found an old wallmart receipt from 2 yrs. ago, for the purchase of a couple boxes of federal 22 and a box or two of cci mini mags. When I red the price total, and the amount of boxes I was allowed to leave the store with at one time, I cried!

I really miss buck a box .22. I miss .38 Spl reloads for $5 with brass exchange. I miss imported 9mm for $7 a box.

I miss being able to go shooting with the kids and not have to wonder if I'll be able to afford to buy food that month.

Lowest I bought .22 for was .79 a box. My wife used to buy me 500 round bricks for like $6 every holiday. I remember seeing match grade .22 for like $3 a box and thought that was outrageous.

I also remember pumping gas for my father at $.79 a gallon.

Looks like .22 Long, not .22 Long Rifle. (Lighter bullet and shorter OAL.)

    Cool find.

Cheapest I recall was <$5 (IIRC) for a box of 30-06 180gr . . . and gas at $0.239 per gallon, gas war, Trenton NJ, mid-1960s.

First time I ever filled up my car I paid $2.30 a gallon. I guess I'm the baby of this thread.
