    Default New Glock trigger pull?

I have not purchased a Glock manufactured after 2004. But I just had to have the Glock 30S. I have noticed a much heavier trigger pull than my older ones. It is about 2 lbs heavier than the older 5 lb trigger. Is this normal? For anyone that owns older and newer Glocks, do you notice the difference? I know the triggers now are rated at 5.5 lbs, but 2 lbs heavier seems like a lot? I measured it with my Timney trigger pull gauge and it reads about 6.5-7.0. I pull the trigger on my old 17L and I barely have to pull to release the trigger. Any thoughts or is this normal? I have put 200 rounds through the gun an it has not lowered the trigger pull.

I think it is also a matter of geometry with that model.

I have measured about 10 glocks with a Lyman gauge and the 29/30 consistently comes in heavy.

Gen 4 17 measured about 6lbs out of the box.
    gen 4 34 about 4.5 lbs.
My gen 3 22 with MANY rounds is just over 5.

    A gen 3 29 came in about 7.25 and a gen 3 30 around 7.

    Hope it helps.

I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).

Funny, my stock 23 gen 4 has the lightest and smoothest pull of any Glock I've ever owned, and I put 3.5 connectors on them and polished them. Luck of the draw maybe.

Your 17L came with a different connecter from the factory which provides a lighter trigger pull.(minus connector, used to be called the 3.5lb connector) So your 30S will have a heavier trigger pull.

Pull weight can vary by a decent amount so 6.5-7 does not sound out of line. The pull should get smoother and feel lighter as the round count goes up.

My G4 G26 has a "dot" connector and the trigger is phenomenal. Don't know the weight but light and crisp.

Also have a dot in G19 gen3 and replaced it with a Ghost 3.5 which was WAY too light.
    Went back to Dot

If it bothers you, get a "dot" connector and a NY1 trigger spring. The pull weight will be the same, but with a much smoother and more consistent trigger feel.

My newly manufactured G26 gen3 has a better trigger pull than all my pre 2004 Glocks. My gen4 G17 had a dot connector and the trigger sucked, I replaced the trigger bar and connector with a gen3 and now it may be the best trigger I have, they all seem to vary a little.

All my Glocks are standard triggers, no 3.5# connectors or light springs.
