Received reply to my inquiry from AGI today:
It is caustic. We never said to let the aluminum (or any other) parts soak for hours. If you squirt, brush, rinse and dry as shown you will have no problems. The electrical connections rarely cause problems.
(I had asked about electrical connections too).
So, like many products, it needs to be properly used.
