It will be held from Friday, Jan 24 through Sunday, Jan 26, this year.

An easy way to remember it is that the Grice's "Shooters Sale" is always, at least in recent years, taking place a week before the Super Bowl weekend.

Yeah, between the last playoff and the SuperBowl, they always promote "no football this weekend so come on out". Best advice is go early, and take plenty of patience with you. It gets crazy there.

Oh and say hi to the guys from the Pa. Wildlife Habitat Club and maybe get a raffle ticket (I think they'll be there again this year).

Is this sale worth driving 2 hours for?

I think it is OK if you need hazmat stuff like powder and primers, but if you need bullets etc you may be better off ordering online. Online shopping looks good when you consider gas, tax, and time. I was just there on Sunday and their selection and inventory is pretty low. Naturally they will restock, but I imagine they won't be restocked 100%. I certainly would not go on Sunday, earlier the better. Bob's Army + Navy down the street is also worth a visit and they run a competitive sale that weekend to help make the trip worthwhile. I have a 500 dollar gift card, so I will probably make a run, but it is usually uncomfortable with all the people.

Grice's seems to have a pretty decent stock of everything, more than most shops, but they pack it in, so if there are hordes of people I can see it's a tight squeeze.

Up here there is plenty of powder and primers, so no shortage here, bullets I order online. If there were some great discounts I'd consider going.

Bob's seems to focus more on the surplus supplies and clothing and their firearm selection seemed small, at least stuff I would be interested in.

Keep an eye on their website, they'll put the sale flyer online shortly (I think) http://gricegunshop.com/

I'd go Friday if at all possible. And yeah, Bob's is worth a stop. Denny's Beer Barrel pub for lunch http://dennysbeerbarrelpub.com/

Just got the Shooters Sale flyer in the mail today. So if you are on their mailing list, be on the watch out. They usually update their web site with the new flyer within a week of the bulk mailing.

Bob's is definitely a worthy stop. But I shudder to think how long the line will be during lunch time at Denny's on that particular weekend...

It's that big of an event?

Well, I will keep an eye out for the flyer on their website and decide if it's worth a visit again.
