    Default Decision made finally!!

Well it took me long enough but ordered a Savage MkII FV-SR.

For the time being it's going to get a scope I already have, Leupold Vari-XII 2-7 with fine cross hairs, dot reticle.

It came down to this one and the Ruger American, carbine version. Liked the hvy bbl, extended bolt, and rail scope base of the Savage.

That will be fantastic, I bought my son a Savage MKII F and put a Nikon prostaff 3X93x9 on it and it does a great job! You can't go wrong with a Savage.
These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Thomas Paine 1776

I had a MKII for years and loved it. Great little gun.

    Default hard decision

Was surprised at how tough making the choice was. Simply because there are so many good choices in the price range.

Now it's time to scope shop. The Mueller APV looks great but seems a bit bulky. The Nikon Rimfire with BDC 150 reticle has my interest as well.
