    Default Looking for some Powder in Stock (45acp loading)

    Hey PAFOA,

    I have been gathering components and my setup for a little bit now but have not been able to source what I've read to be a good powder for 45acp (Unique, Win 231, Alliant Bullseye, Clays, Titegroup)

    I have everything ready to go but can't seem to find powder anywhere in stock (I have primers, bullets. Cases)

    Can anyone point in the direction to in stock good powder for 45acp, it does not have to be the above powders (they were just what I've read to be good in my reloading adventure)

    Thanks in advance!!

    Titegroup for me on 45ACP.

    bullet= hard cast 200gr. J&J
    powder titegroup 4.2 gr
    primer= WW lp
    cases=mixed mostly WW

    Yes this is a light light not even in the manual. I can, cut the bulleye out of the target at 15 yards. S&W 625

    I have loads of 4.8 titegroup 200 gr HJSW. Kimber CSS target, Kimber super match.

    both these loads work outstanding!

    I had tried 3.8gr of titegroup, BUT, load would not cycle my Kimber Ultra 10 II. Such the 4.2 load.
    Today U got to go with the powder U can buy.
    For the 45ACP there is alot of choices.
    Have rounds loaded with bulleyes, Unique. They work very good.
    I load to shoot with out beating me or the firearm up. But must hit were I aim!

    No I did not, I was just at cabelas and they did not have anything, picked up some bullets though

    I'll give them a call tomorrow, I found some accurate #9 (seems like it would burn to slow) online and have load data for that, just have not read much about that for 45 loading...

    I have a single stage press as well as a pro 1000 set up for 45acp

    The last powder I bought was at the Hand Gunner in Topton, Pa.

    2= 1# of Titegroup.

    Just got to be there when it shows up on the shelf?

    Been a fan of Bullseye for .45 myself. Some folks think it is a little dirty or sooty, but it is the original .45 powder, I have always had good luck with it.

    Another favorite is HP-38 (same as Win.231) burns a little cleaner.

    I have good loads developed for both of those powders so either work well for me.

    Good luck finding any powder, I am pretty well stocked up, but the shelves have been bare at all the stores.

    There's a reason they call it "Bullseye". There's also a reason it's been around for over 100 years - it works!

    Dang, we must have been twins that were separated at birth! Same powder here too for same reasons.

    If I could make a recommendation to the OP, if you're in the neighborhood, consider stopping by King Shooters Supply in King of Prussia, PA. They are FLUSH with all kinds of powder. Here's their link:

    WST (Winchester Super Target) is clearly one of the best powders going for accuracy for the 45 Auto. Accurate #2 and VV N310 are also good in addition to those you listed. The 45 is very flexible with powders.

    Five shots from a stock Springfield 1911 @ 50 yards w/WST:

    I was able to source some Winchester AutoComp for the mean time until i get down to Kings later this week...

    Havent heard much about it, well see id prefer bullseye, titegroup, etc, but i want to get loading as i almost have both presses set up and running...

    i have a lee pro 100 45acp and i got a lee single stage (think i will just decap on this then switch to rifle) before running cases through sonic cleaner...

    like i said i am new to this game, but have been reading and lurking for some time into reloading, finally just took the plunge on investment of space, equipment, and material
