Hornady die requires more push than Lee die?
I have a Hornady Series III Nitride resizer/deprimer die for 9mm in addition to a Lee Carbide resizer/deprimer. After lubing cases the Lee die requires very minimal effort whereas the Hornady die wants to keep the case on the downstroke -- so much that my entire bench moves when trying to get the case out of the die. This can't be normal, can it? Again, the cases are already lubed with Hornady One-Shot.
I've swapped out the Hornady die and much prefer the Lee die but I'd like to know if I'm doing something wrong.

Re: Hornady die requires more push than Lee die?
Are they both carbide resizer dies?
By the mention of lube I'm assuming the hornady is not carbide.FOAC Member, NRA Member

Did you clean the dies with isopropal alcohol?
As mentioned, if the Hornady dies are steel, there will be a different 'feel' and then yes, you must lube.
The biggest reason to go carbide is that you do not need to lube then clean cases. You can, but its not required, and adds extra steps.

They are both carbide dies. From Hornady.com:

Ironic that the die does have cases sticking, but again, I spray a generous amount of Hornady one-shot on the 9mm cases before reloading so this should be a non-issue. Both dies were cleaned when they first arrived.
At first I tried the Lee Carbide without lube and cases were a little sticky. Post-lube, cases flow in and out of the die with zero issues. Cases go into the Hornady die with minimal fuss but exiting the die requires quite a bit of pressure.

A coworker had a similar problem and contacted Hornady. According to the tech he had the expander ball sitting to low in the die. Try backing out the expander.
