Re: PMSC membership?
One thing that never ceases to amaze me, is that every time that I've gone shooting there, I've had the place mostly to myself.
With a club this size,I expected it to be packed a lot of the time. I'm sure it is sometimes, it just hasn't been when I was there... which is good.

Re: PMSC membership?
Yup. I went last weekend (Sat?) and there were people on the rifle range, pistol range and what I assume is the new steel range at the top of the hill.
A few people up top, but I was still able to find a spot to shoot alone.
Oh, and those shotgun people doing whatever it is they do along the road. Trap, skeet... I dunno the difference.

+1
I've been a members for 7 years. I think we had about 600 members when I joined. Now we are over 2K. I don't see any difference in range use today than when I joined. It's like one step above a ghost town.
Of course, I typically use the club on weekends between 9-noon. Maybe the bulk of our members are a after work or sleep in on weekends crowd.Last edited by Hawk; January 6th, 2014 at 01:33 PM.

Re: PMSC membership?
I'm there mostly between noon-4 on weekends. Rarely has it been a problem to find an empty bay. Sometimes the rifle range will be a close to full but usually we just shoot some pistol and come back down.
The two "nut" bays are the only ones I haven't ever shot at. It looks like you might need a 4x4 to get to them.
*Note this map has not been yet updated with the new bays.

Re: PMSC membership?
EM.....Trap is where the clay birds are "sprung" (released) from one house and they are always going away from the shooter. Skeet is where the clay birds go from side to side and are flung from a low house and a high house.
At PMSC the skeet range (and there is only one skeet range...that's the one closet to the combo building) has been updated so now you can shoot what is know as "5 stand." It's called that because the shooter will move to five different positions when he shoots. If I recall correctly (I only shot this once) there are now 6 clay bird throwers....one will toss a bird from behind you and one directly towards you...and it really is fun to shoot. You gotta dust off your old pump or semi and give this a try.
Dave.
Oh....a PMSC member, for Ummm...3 years I think.
