    Default High Capacity Clips ?

    Hi.
    I am new here.

I am trying to find out if high capacity clips are legal in pennsylvania.
I recently put together a deal of reselling some clips, and then I read the New York penal code and found out it is a class D felony to have a hi cap clip.

So I wanted to have a relative in PA order them, and reship.
Any input that will keep me out of prison is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Yes, high capacity magazines are legal in PA. The way I understand it is that New York state is still under the 1994 style AWB so possession of a high cap mag made after 1994 is illlegal. So buying post ban hi caps in PA and transporting them into New York would be illegal. As I am not a lawyer you may want to so a little research on this. Try www.packing.org or http://www.nraila.org/gunlaws/

I don't plan on trying to bring one into New York.
Just need a place to ship and remail them back out to other folks.
its a shame, all that crap for the ruger 10/22's and New York can't use half of it.

The way I read New Yorks Penal law it sounded like if they really wanted to they could brand my remington 597 an assualt rifle.

    Thanks for the reply.

First...these are NOT "HIGH capacity magazines! These are STANDARD capacity mags.

New York, in their moronic anti-rights mentality have decided citizens are not responsible enough to handle standard capacity magazines.

As the previous poster mentioned, if you sell a legal magazine (in PA) to a New Yorker, you've commited a crime. Don't do it! I'm sure many New Yorkers have ignored this stupid crap, but now NYC has that idiot Bloomberg, the Nazi, who probably would try to sue you.

well, I did not plan on shipping them to any states where they are prohibited.
which as best I can tell from compiled lists on the NRA website etc, is only a half dozen or so states.

That's not what was stated. A seller in Pennsylvania commits no crime if he/she sells legal magazines to a New Yorker while in Pennsylvania. Now, if the New Yorker happens to transport such magazines into New York State, that's a different matter - then, and only then, has a crime occurred, but by then it's no longer a Pennsylvania matter.

Thats kind of how I figured it would work.
As long as the clips never pass into or through New York state I should be ok with the law.
