Re: Start reloading?
Well I go nice and slow on my Dillon progressive press (Square Deal B). Keep an eye on things as they move through.
I have no need for great speed. For me, loading is done when I have a free hour. I do a hundred rounds (one tray of primers) in that time.
I've made mistakes and hopefully learned from them. Not had a primer pop off yet but I figure I will sooner or later. I've had two squibs. Both times I recognized them for what they were before making the mistake worse. I think every shooter should experience one just to learn.

Oh.
You should not try to load .45LC bullets in .45ACP brass.
Technically it fits, but it is BAD.
I got lucky. Someone stopped me before I got too far into it.

A couple pieces of corncob left I the casing of a big magnum when loaded near max can blow casings in half in a real bad day.

Re: Start reloading?
Yup and the boxed need to be clearly marked; they never are.
I never run on the edge of the blade (maximum loads), and if'in I do, they are loaded with the utmost attention to every detail.
Had a 6.8 SPC 95g TTSX run at 3,100 FPS (knocked out all the primers)
Had a .45 185g JHP run at 1,100 out of a 1911 (felt like the gun came apart in your hand when fired)
I no longer feel the "need for speed" as it were. HP38 = standards loads, Power Pistol = fast loads. Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

Thanks to a suggestion in this thread I got a Lyman 9mm case gauge. Looks like a handy piece of kit.
