January Practical Rifle Match at LRGC (The AK Match)

Happy New Years Everyone

We will be holding our annual AK Practical Rifle Match on Saturday January 25th. Please note, registration preference will be given to those with AK style rifles. This includes detachable magazine fed SKS and VZ58 or VZ-2008 rifles. If you have a non- detachable magazine fed SKS you will need to reload using stripper clips. There will be no loading of individual rounds permitted. Those with Sig Arms rifles are Capitalists so don't ask! If we do not sell out with those using the people's rifle, all un-filled slots will be given to those registering with the dreaded tools of capitalistic oppression based upon their order of registration.

Remember our matches typically sell out within the first hour of the link opening. If you want to shoot with us, please be ready to sign-up at 9:00am on December 10th. The fee for this match is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.


January Practical Rifle Link

REMEMBER THIS LINK WILL NOT FUNCTION UNTIL 9:00AM ON THE 10th of the MONTH

You will also need:

A magazine fed semi-automatic center fire rifle (or an SKS with at least five stripper clips.)
Eye and Ear protection
Four functional magazines
80 rounds of ammunition
A Chamber Flag
A sling for your rifle
Masking tape for your target
A sharpie marker
To be at the range signed in and ready to go by no later than 0830hrs
A case for your rifle.
Bring exact change and your signed waiver
A positive and safe attitude


Optional items :

Knee and Elbow pads
A shooting mat
Binoculars or Spotting scope


Things to think about:

We shoot in rain, sleet, snow, and heat. Please be sure to dress for conditions. You will shoot in standing, knelling and prone positions. That means you may get wet or dirty. Please wear appropriate foot gear. We strongly suggest a good boot. No open toe shoes are permitted.

Just a reminder that the sign-up link will go live at 9:00am on Friday the 10th. We will be giving registration preference to those participants shooting with an AK style rifle. Those who have capitalist rifles are still encouraged to sign up as if we don't sell out with those using the people's rifle; we will give the remaining slots to those running dog capitalists in the order they signed up.

For those new with our program, our past matches have been selling out in under thirty minutes. So if you want to shoot with us, please be ready to register at 9:00am tomorrow. Last thing, you are not officially registered until you get an email from me.

It is a tough situation we are faced with. We had to pick a time and stay firm. We selected 9:00am. We understand that there is no time that is fair to everyone. Others who have faced this issue have a friend or family member register them.
