Problem with Ruger 10/22
My Ruger 10/22 is a great gun, but I applied too much torque to the scope mount and stripped the threads in the top of the receiver. Is there any way to repair this?

Re: Problem with Ruger 10/22
My suggestion would be to first search the forums at www.rimfirecentral.com and then if you don't find an answer, ask over there for help. I know that I've read threads about this problem over there.

There is a epoxy thread restorer out there. I have used it in some automotive applications, with mixed results..

Re: Problem with Ruger 10/22
Take it to a local smith, and have him tap it to the next bigger size. Mabey have all 4 holes done, Or both done, However many there are, That way all screws are the same size!

If its only a .22, JB Weld would probably work if'n yer one to do a little redneck gunsmithin on it. Anything with more kick than a .22 and I might go with the bigger screw idea.
