    Default Jacobsburg State Park

Just curious to see how anyone made out at Jacobsburg State Park this year...I usually hunt it once or twice during regular rifle season but never made it. I plan on heading out after Xmas for archery. On a side note, I know PGC doesn't stock pheasants any more but I still love to walk around there for small game...anybody have any luck...i didnt even see a single rabbit this year.

I have not seen much of any game.
The park is busy with school children, mt bikers, walkers, hikers, horse riders, etc.

After the snow checked for tracks? not many.
More near Filetown road on top of old farm, (private).

I hunt there. I have only see a couple Y bucks, a spike and some doe that were either jumped on my way out at night or just not in range for the bow.

There is alot of bikers, hikers, etc. that do not wear orange.

Alot of squirrel for the small gamers, but not thing.

Ive hunted all season here from Bow to Rifle and now back to bow. I hope to get one this season. There is alot of sign but I don't think they move during the day.

Thank you for the two posts and feedback...it is appreciated. I was there today for a mid afternoon hunt. There is a lot of sign...fresh tracks and droppings. A tree stand would be ideal. The one time im not walking with a shotgun I saw a rabbit! Figures! I might head back there for some archery over the next week or so.

Ive seen a couple fox's there as well. Which section are you hunting? I got a stand over on the "Big" side. Then I know of a couple stand I sit in over at the the State Game Rd parking area.

I talked to a couple runners and they all said they see ALOT of deer there. But they are in the no hunting parts. So I'm thinking of putting a stand right on the line and hope for the best.

It was too cold this past weekend and I didn't get out. Plus it made the wife happy as she's been complaining I dont spend weekends with her because of too much hunting. But I will be out again the 16th and the 25th. I really hope to get one as I haven't got a deer since 2006....
