Default Ruger releases new external hammer LCRx

The USA is now a banana republic. Only without the bananas....or the Republic.

Well this is just about fantastic, this is what the LCR needed to rival the sp101.
I got rid of my LCR because the DAO trigger.

Just today picked up an LCR22 for the wife. This one may be a good wheel gun for me as all I have now is Semi autos. Research i have done puts them a notch about classics like and SW642. Pretty impressive.

May as well hold off until they get the recall worked out.

I like my LCR with DAO trigger. For a pocket revolver, the absence of an exposed hammer is a good feature that prevents snagging or accidental cocking on draw. And the trigger is a sweet trigger.

Just out of curiosity, why would some folks prefer a DA with exposed hammer on a snubby?

You are right. If it is DAO then a hammer is pointless.

Assumption is you can in fact cock it and use it Single. Just a range thing..although that is sort of pointless in a gun of this kind as they are not made for precision but point and shoot. Just got the LCR22 so will see how we like it.

I think it's a great option to have if you prefer that. The hammer looks very low profile anyway and I think snagging would be minimal.

I agree. I would prefer the hammer to give me the SA option, however, I am not much of a revolver guy. The only one I currently own is a USFA SAA which is single action only.

I like it. I prefer a hammer, just a personal preference thing, even though I know it's more likely to snag. FWIW, my brother had a LCR in .357 and it was surprisingly accurate at SD distances, like 7 yards or so. At that distance I could group as well with it as any of my full size revolvers, maybe slightly better. It's a shame, he sold it without letting me know, I probably would have bought it. Oh well.....
