Need some help identifying this upper (Pic Inside)
Found this on AR15.com and have tried to search everywhere and found nothing helpful. The post was a few years old so I didn't really try to contact the original poster plus I don't really post there at all.
Maybe this would do better in another section but here it is:
EDIT: To be more precise, I'm trying to figure out what the barrel/rail setup is. Not so much the upper as it's just a regular 9mm upperLast edited by boomer_aaa; December 18th, 2013 at 02:26 PM.

I'm no expert, but it looks home built.
1. Standard AR upper
2. Railed - Free float tube (maybe 6")
3. Barrel (maybe 6")
4. 12" Picatinny rail
5. HK type irons.Last edited by Hawk; December 18th, 2013 at 02:51 PM.

9mm upper receiver
clamp on HK style diopter rear and HK front
MP5SD hand guard/barrel shroud
Prob 5-6" barrel
It looks as though the clamp on one piece top rail is also part of the barrel shroud that the rubber hand guard attaches to.
It may be a custom HK shroud welded to a one piece top rail.
With some ingenuity and imagination.....

Re: Need some help identifying this upper (Pic Inside)
It is defiantly a HK SD inspired upper. I would have made sure the bbl was inside the shroud to screw a can in. Thus giving you the look of a SD without the ports on the bbl. I built a quad rail 9mm upper this way and it is fun to shoot.

Thanks for the replies.
That looks like pretty much everything. The top rail looks a little different but the handguards seem like an exact match. Guess I have to keep looking for that top rail. I'd like to get as close to that one as possible.
Yeah, I'd definitely like to build something like that. I do think the barrel is all the way inside on that one. I think it just has a flash hider on the end of it.
