They were also very clear that they wouldn't tolerate political discussion out side of the 2nd amendment. They haven't been firm with that (which I've shown), so why should I expect them to be firm in their original opposition to bringing back the PW?

It's been a year. And with the dismal effect of closing the PW and the lack of enforcement of the rules, I would expect them to reevaluate the situation and choose a better course. I really don't care which course. I would be fine with the enforcement of the rules just as much as bring the PW back.

Instead, it seems like they are hoping that if they ignore it, it will go away.

Actually after being banned for off topic content I started to report any off topic content i came across. After a while I received a pm from a person who is no longer a mod, to cut it out.

I thought that was the main reason with a few other minor issues along the way.

It wouldn't surprise me if I was to get a PM to cut it out. But again that's pretty stupid. I remember seeing a bunch of times the mods asking us to report posts that are in violation because they can't monitor everything. So in one breath they want us to speak up, but in another they want us to ignore violations.

There is a post buried here somewhere from a Mod saying that they are now tolerating some political posts but I don't remember seeing a follow up on which topics are allowed or which members such posts are allowed to post them.

It may be the same discretion used when deciding which reported posts are acted on.
