State Game land Range- concealed carry?
So I am venturing over to the State Game land range in french creek. Can I conceal carry while I am there? I know the place is frequented by the Game Wardens and I do not want to risk getting a stupid fine for practicing my legal rights.

Do you have your PA LTCF?
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

(b) Prohibited acts. At a rifle and handgun range located on land under Commission ownership, lease or jurisdiction, except when authorized by the appropriate regional director or a designee, it is unlawful to:
(1) Possess a loaded firearm, except at an established shooting station on the firing line.
I SAY it's prohibited.
Remember that saying about do as I say, not as...

Re: State Game land Range- concealed carry?
I think a cogent argument can be made that any regulations promulgated by the Game Commission are pursuant to their enabling legislation, namely, the Title 34 Game and Wildlife Code Statutes.
58 Pa. Code §135.181(b)(2) cites as its authorityAuthority The provisions of this § 135.181 amended under the Game and Wildlife Code, 34 Pa.C.S. § § 721(a), 2102(a) and 2901(b)
34 Pa CS § 2525. Possession of firearm for protection of self or others.
(a) General rule.--It is lawful for a law enforcement officer
or any person who possesses a valid license to carry a firearm
issued under 18 Pa.C.S. § 6109 (relating to licenses) to be in
possession of a loaded or unloaded firearm while engaged in any
activity regulated by this title.
(b) Construction.--
(1) This section shall supersede any prohibition on the
possession of a firearm or ammunition contained in any other
provision of this title.
(2) This subsection shall not be construed to permit the
hunting or harvesting of any wildlife with a firearm or
ammunition not otherwise permitted by this title.IANAL

Re: State Game land Range- concealed carry?
Among the extremely poor safety and firearm handling skills of the SGL shooters, zero accountability for these shooters, ridiculous ammunition rules, and the fact that I would be breaking the law for CCing. I made it a priority to join a private club after I got back into shooting in this area.

They don't frisk you at the SGL range. I conceal all the time when I'm at my local SGL range. I do not shoot my cc firearm, so no one is the wiser.
