yea the barrel is on its way to work with my brother to be cut and filled smooth just below the bump in it, back to the range Wednesday to see how it shoots.

If you're cutting it, might as well just go down to 18-20" (leave a little extra just to be sure though) and have yourself a defensive barrel for it. If it's a ribbed barrel, cut it at the last vertical post that's past 18." Did that with an old Mossberg 500 barrel that had some muzzle damage (it came to me that way). After a touch up with Oxpho-blue, it looked almost factory and shot well. Actual length ended up around 19.5"

If you are going to use this gun for hunting then keep it as long as possible.

Buy cantilever slug barrel and then get buck shot barrel.

I have 1187 andove it for buckshot and bird shot. Bought h&r for slugs. Cheap accurate gun.

Is using a semi-auto for deer legal?

I thought semis were illegal even in Spec Reg areas. I am in 5C and have put off getting semiauto shotgun.
