Re: bucks long range
Langhorne Rod and Gun Club would be a good place to learn(membership required). They have a big bore range which goes out to 50, 100, 200, 300 yards and any number of qualified people to lend you a hand.

Just for the info, here is the website to the 1000 yard range near Williamsport, PA that Erswnn mentioned.
Good shooting...

Re: bucks long range
gary thanks....how far will the shooting be? i'd really like 200 or better. i shoot 100 all the time and its too easy. just that the feilds are either too muddy or planted so can't get 200 from my backstop. if you could please post the specifics of the event. i looked on the website and it leaves a lot to be desired. pm or post very interested

Re: bucks long range
Details can be found right here on this very site...
http://www.pafoa.org/forum/shoots-ra...day-shoot.html
If you wish to attend, please plan on arriving by 9:30. Most all of our precission shooting is done at 200 yards from various positions (except the bench) We don't shoot from the bench. We go rain or shine and I promise you will meet guys who have forgotten more about precission marksmanship that I know.
I hope to see you there.
Regards,
Gary

Re: bucks long range
Excellent. If you own a semi-auto style rifle i.e AR, AK, FAL, Mini-14 etc., you may wish to bring that along as well. You can then decide if you want to shoot the precission course of fire or the practical carbine course of fire.
This will be an "informal" shoot with food and time for significant others to particate in a fun, safe and low pressure environment.
She need not even participate to attend.

Gary

Re: bucks long range
I will be coming home on leave mid Nov to mid Dec. I recently purhcased a S&W MP rifle (civilian M4 version) and will be looking for somewhere to shoot. My father recently moved to the Williamsport area (Muncy) so I will probably check ot the range up there. I've shot nothing but expert with the M-16 in my last 11 years of service in the Marine Corps and I would probably be able to give some good pointers to anyone that is interested. I would love to get to one of the shoots if there is any while I am at home. I need to break the rifle in somewhere, the lovely state of California won't let me have the rifle here
