Default A warning to those who shoot "dual" cartridge revolvers.

Was out shooting my .32 magnum SP-101 the other day. I had some problem ejecting the empty brass. It took a little tapping against the table. The reason: My previous outing consisted of shooting .32 S&W. These cartridges are a little shorter than the magnums. I did not clean the cylinders between firings. The magnum cases expanded against the residue on the cylinder walls and were a sticky to remove. The solution: Clean the gun between outings.

I don't know if the same thing happens in the .38 Special/.357 magnum world. Maybe somebody can enlighten us.

    Anyway - be warned.

I get the same thing with my 22 rifle. When I shoot 60gr Aguila SSS ammo, then switch to standard 22LR ammo, the extractor sometimes slips off of the rim (but not often). After a few rounds have been through the pipe, the problem fixes itself.

No issues with .38 spl and .357 mags in my GP100. both run like champs and eject without issues.

Yup, can happen with .38 & .44. I was always told to shoot the mags first then the spls. I don't always follow that advise, but haven't had much problem.

The SP101s I have used do seem a little more sensitive to the problem than others. JMHO

Not with my two Ruger revolvers. I often switch back and forth, sometimes have both at the same time just to see if I anticipated the magnum rounds, never a problem.

Yeah, I was wondering if the duel would be free or tickets were going to be sold.
IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)

If there's a duel will one be wearing a mighty shirt and the other carrying a pointy stick?

Is that why I have problems getting 22 mag ammo into my 22 long cylinder for my Ruger Single six? Damn
