Private sale/purchase of a doe tag

I just got an invite to go deer hunting up in Susquehanna County 3C. While I'm good to go for my local WMU (5C), 3C has been sold out for a while. I was wondering if it's legal to buy one privately from someone who maybe purchased several and wouldn't mind letting one go?

My only onther option would be to go Antlered only which is still not a bad way to spend the trip

Any one ever done this or have some feedback on the legality?

Short answer no you can not use another’s doe permit.

34 Pa CS § 2711. Unlawful acts concerning licenses.

(a) General rule.--Except as otherwise provided in this title, it is unlawful for any person to:

(3) Lend or transfer in any manner whatsoever a license or game or wildlife kill tag to any other person regardless of the purpose.

It is a shame we can not do this here. In NY of all places, I can LEGALLY sign over my "doe" tag to a fellow hunter. This worked out a few years back when I had to have knee surgery and could no longer hunt. Don't let your friends tell you that it is ok for you to take a doe that they can then tag. It is a violation and unethical in my opinion. Unfortunately, it happens all the time.

Usually I plan ahead and get tags for whichever WMU I have intentions for. This trip offer came from out of the blue and left me wanting.

Did you check and see if any DMAP are available for that area?

I saw that when googling for an answer on the private purchase of doe tags.... but this trip is scheduled for opening weekend and from what I read, DMAP is only good for the last few weeks of the season..

Some wmus are antler only for the first week regardless of the type of antlerless permit you have so if you are going to one of these palces a regular anterless wouldn't do you any good either!
