Game land Maps????
It used to be you could get game land maps that would show their location, boundaries, roads and copos. Can you still get these maps. I know they have maps on the site but I can't get them to work and every time I try to do something it tells me there is an error. Sounds like the feds.
Anyway can you get a paper map of game lands??
thanks

They work for me.
You might have a setting issue or missing a plug-in with your computer.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

They work for me also , but they are very slow to fill in all the information. If I zoom on the map I have to let it sit for a bit before all the info appears on the map.

Re: Game land Maps????
Did you guys have to download a program to make it work? When I hit print, like I said, I get pa. game commission on the borders but no map. I also don'e get a map when I go to print preview. Did you do anything special to set up the computer to read the maps??

Re: Game land Maps????
Got it!!!!!!!!!! I had to go to the place where it asks you exactly what you want after you hit print. I had to go down to map only. It came up on the computer in print preview and printed out. Good deal!! Took a while to figure out though
Hey have you guys used the model app for the game lands you purchase from the game commission? Just wondering how it works?Last edited by thumbs; November 17th, 2013 at 02:59 PM.

Re: Game land Maps????
Thumbs, not sure I understand what "model app" is? Is that some sort of cell phone GPS?
I use a garmin Oregon, those numbers on the side of the map, outside the border represent UTM's (Universal Transverse Mercator), I believe they are much simpler than using LAT's and Longs, particularly for foot travel, as each grid is 10k by 10k.
Typically you have to change the set up in your GPS to read them though and be sure you use the same USGS survey year as the map reflects, otherwise you will could have a different "Zero reference" point from the git go."North of I-80, we don't dial 911, we dial 223"

The new map function is neat, but it's clunky and hard to use. I can't figure out how to save a map and be able to return to it to edit later.

Re: Game land Maps????
Sorry I meant mobile app. The game commissions has it on the app store. Anyway...........
I've been playin with the maps on the game commission site. Really not sure exactly how to use them yet. I was trying to find coop land owners but not sure what I found looks right. One of the sites looks like it's in the middle of town. Not sure that would be a good place to hunt.
I have an ole Garmin Legend. Not sure that would help much. Now that I can print the maps it shouldn't be to tough to figure where I am. It would be nice to have something that shows where you are and have the outline of the game lands to see exactly where in the game lands you are though. There are a couple of places around here that get real narrow from one part of the game land to another. In those cases it may be possible to stray off. I'm sure they will be posted though.
Tollster sounds complicated. Heck it took me a while to figure this thing out. I'm sure once you get used to it it's probably great though. Sounds like it would really help.Last edited by thumbs; November 17th, 2013 at 10:12 PM.

Re: Game land Maps????
No doubt the same folks designed the PGC maps as designed odumbocare site.
Horrible.
Amazing how so much software updating ruins the apps/programs.
Way to complicated and huge resource hogs. Its easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled....Mark Twain
