Deer Hunting near Erie county

Hello All,
I recently moved out to the Erie area and am wondering what are some good locations for deer hunting when rifle season starts?

Preferably places within 10 - 30 min of the city limits
I have a lot of "south of I 90" but I have never hunted on Game Lands before as I always had friends with private property

get a official Pa map from a politician or look online. There in color are the more than 1 million public acres availible to hunters. Not being from Erie I can not recommend areas with 30 minutes of the city. Get the map, plan your work and work your plan! Please let us know how it works out...

If you go to the PA Game Commission web site you will find a list of SGL's in the area. Many have topo maps. There is also the Allegheny National Forest about 1 1/2 hours to the south east. Plenty of hunting up that way.

Plenty of public land within a half an hour that would be yours for the taking. The further you can go the better though. If it's clsoe to the city, you can be sure you;re not the only one hunting it.
