    Default Virginia Law

Upon reading laws in Virginia if you conceal a weapon (hidden from common observance) you are guilty of a misdemeanor.Whats the purpose of reciprocity with this state?

The purpose of reciprocity is so that you won't be arrested an charged with a misdemeanor if you hold a PA LTCF.

Pennsylvania and Virginia signed a reciprocity agreement.

Dan, thanks. The Virginia agreement seems more definitive than the reciprocity agreement in place with FL for non residents.

I Know what reciprocity is. My point is if you can't carry concealed in your vehicle or on your person whats the point.Might as well be PRNJ.

my guess is that concealing a weapon is generally defined as a crime, but then there is an exception for permit holders (and others such as LEOs). that is how such laws are often written.

you most likely just did not see the part of the law that defines the exceptions.

You left the vehicle part out of your post. All you have to do in VA is put the loaded weapon in plain site when driving, you can still have it on you.

Check out the VCDL, they are currently trying to get that restriction lifted, you also have to open carry when you're in a restaurant as well, in VA!

I believe that applies only if the resturant serves alcohol
