Re: Savage 29-A Rimfire Pump Action Checkered Stock
Word of advise - Don't mess with the knob. If the gun shoots and doesn't jam, double, or bind, leave the knob as it is. I have a Ranger pump rifle (renamed model 29 sold by Sears and Montgomery Ward) and when I got it I had problems with it feeding two rounds at a time. The solution was to slightly tighten the knob on the side. All it takes is just a little turn to screw up the works, so like I said, if it works, leave the knob the hell alone.

My Savage 29-B is a tank. No problems with tightening the knob.
