I don't own a Steyr Scout, but I"m a huge Steyr fan. You won't be disappointed with your purchase. The Scouts are light and very handy. Most are using a EER optic such as a Leupold 2.5x. That is what will come with the Cooper Scout rifle.

I love the looks of the fluted barrel and the rifle itself is very light. Only thing I dislike is how high the bipod is on that rifle.

There are some neat features on the scout rifle if you can swallow the $2k price tag.

    Too much Counter-Strike!

Steyr does make nice things, but for a little more you could get an FN SPR!

the bi pod is flimsy other than that it looks good .you can get a scope mount like that for other guns like leaver actions from xs sights i think that's there name .

They are extremely well made. However, while I don't own one, I know four people very well who owned them and sold them.

Top loading is down right painful. This may seem rather moot with a magazine fed rifle but it is a technique that needs to be learned nevertheless.

It is accurate and light weight as others have noted but it does not like milsurp ammo.

The stock is its most "near to perfect" feature.

    Lots of info at http://www.frfrogspad.com/#Scout.

not going to lie cs did have a little to do with me wanting a scout, but then again i havent played cs in years, and if i was going to base all my guns off cs i would be wanting a whole lot of other guns, but then again i really do want a good % of the guns from cs

Let me preface this by saying I have absolutely no experience with the Steyr, but the scout style rifles do appeal to me. For that kind of money, I think I'd get a Ruger GSR and spend the rest on another gun or a lot of ammo. Just my opinion, take it for what it is.

I have a 308 and a 376. Both are awesome rifles. If you have the money they are well worth it. Bill at Sportsman's Connection couldn't believe the trigger on my 376 was stock. Both rifles shoot quality ammo into 1/2" groups or better. I wouldn't think twice about buying another. I did remove the scout scopes on both and replace them with conventional variants.
