Active "Men with guns incident" North Hanover Walmart
Not sure what all is going on currently, but as I sit here at work, a call was just given to PD from a manager in the Wal Mart advising men wearing camo are carrying rifles strung over their shoulders. PD responded and advised everything is normal. 911 then advised that they called the manager and the manager now advising the men are in the Wal Mart sporting goods area and are being confronted by loss prevention and are refusing to leave.
UPDATE: PD is now out with the subjects advising they are OK. Ill post details to follow.
UPDATE from PD 1544: All subjects have been escorted from the building without incident.
In all my years working and listening up to the radio I havent heard a 911 call in the Hanover area for anything that sounds like someone OC. Well I wont pass judgement on Wal Mart being anti OC or not yet as I dont really know the details of what these guys did.Last edited by Calzonewdippingsauce; December 24th, 2013 at 04:45 PM.

IIRC Wal Mart corporate still follows State law. Sounds like the Employees don't know that!

If it were the south Hanover one there would have been pandemonium. A lot of Marylanders shop there and would have freaked the F out.

Part of that "State law" is that when the owner of property (via the agents of that owner) demands that you exit the premises, then you are legally required to go.
It's not a defense that the agents of the owner were not following corporate policy; it's defiant trespass if they tell you to go, and you refuse to leave.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

All they wanted were the last bricks of .22.
They should have left when asked by store employees and gone elsewhere.

Yep..
Enough nervous people asked management to have the men with guns leave, or at least take the guns out - regardless of corporate policy.
Everyone has to remember that even if there is a corporate or localized policy to follow state laws - an individual situation where the management or personnel asking the person to leave probably wouldn't violate the policy if there is enough disturbance involved. And the request would have full backing of the law.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

What does knowing their jobs have to do with anything? 3 armed "millitants" walk into a crowded store on christmas eve.... yea that sounds normal. Its all about time and place, I bet if they would have walked in the same way on the first day of deer season the cops would have never been called

Honestly, the primary goal of any business (one that isn't being hijacked by infiltrating activists of either stripe) is to make as many customers happy as possible, while scaring or annoying as few as possible. (A&E has been hijacked; Cracker Barrel has not.)
Pre-Christmas, the choice between indulging 3 customers or the other 500 is a no-brainer.
I'll acknowledge that a similar calculus 70 years ago might lead a store owner to post a "NO NEGROES" sign, and 100 years ago a "NO IRISH" sign. Times change, the laws change, and the Irish and those whom the NAACP protects now have statutory cover; someday, gun owners may as well.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com
