Default Used mavrick 88 what to do with it.

So I got a used mavrick 88 the other day. I cleaned it up cause it looked like it never was cleane and on top of the receiver the finish is worn off and I'm wondering what to do with it. It also has the ati folding stock and i am not a fan of it. So what should I add change or paint.

I'd put a pistol grip stock of some sort on it. I have an ATI M4 style, 6 position stock on my Mberg 500. Then, practice your spray paint skills with the camo scheme of your choice. Since the finish is already bitched up, it can only look better - even if it's not a great paint job.

Any specific kind of spray paint?

Both Rust-Oleum and Krylon make MegaUltra flat spray paints specifically for doing camo patterns. Lowes, Home Depot, and WalMart carry one or the other brand. I've used OD green in both brands for gasoline cans. They go on like any other spray paint and hold up well.

Thanks now all I have to do is find a patter that I like. I really appreciate the input. Maybe a black with wight tiger stripes or skulls.

Use this for the aluminum parts:

And this for the blued steel parts:

No need to bubba camo, unless you think it looks cool.

As for furniture, that ATI adjustable stock mentioned earlier is pretty nice, so long as you ditch the sidesaddle that mounts to the stock itself. Makes you have to commit fully to shooting the shotgun either right or left handed. For an HD gun, that makes no sense to me. I went with a receiver mounted side saddle, all was much better.

I'm waiting on Magpul to bring out their Mossberg stuff. Might boot my ATI setup to the curb.

You could also make it a PGO with a Raptor birds head grip. That's a lot of fun!

I was hoping magpul would be out for the mossy by now. I do enjoy the sga stock and that would be a better fit. I had the speed feed Montycarlo stock or a2 style on the mind. And the finish I was giving it a thought of tan, green or black coat krylon or Duracoat from brownells. I may get my sketch book for patterns to do something nice. But I'm in no rush and redoing the finish is a good idea.

It's not drilled and tapped so I was thinking of adding the ati heat shield with ghost rings or getting a rail like the warhamer and some sights.

The ATI shield is pretty useless. Flimsy and apt to scratching up your barrel. Sights aren't the best either.

The rail is a much better idea, but personally I would just toss on a side saddle and let it be as is, bead sight only.

    OR...you could also get this:

Rifle sights, expanded capacity. My HD shotgun is setup like that. It's accurate as all getout with rifled slugs.
