Default Receiving multiple notifications of posts

    Can someone help me?

I am receiving multiple notifications of new posts in threads I have posted or subscribed to.

In addition, when I click on the link to the "new post" I am not taken to it.

It is kind of maddening to figure out where the new posts begin, and to delete the multiple notifications.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

    THANKS much!

Go to your User Cp and find the 'List Subscriptions' tab. There you can change the subscribed notification delivery method to 'No Emails'. (Remember to select the check box for the subscription you want to change and then choose the notification method from the drop down menu) Save and close...now you can just go to your User Cp to access the subscribed thread without all the emails...

    Hope this helps!

I appreciate the reply, but I do want to get the e-mail notifications, just not duplicates.

Are you actually receiving "duplicate" notices, or just "continuing" notices?

If you are not on the board, you receive a single notice, and no more until you visit the forum. If you are actually on the forum already, you will continue to get a notice each time a new post is made.

    AHA!! So that's the problem!!

Yeah, I guess they are "continuing" notices.

An additional problem is that the link in the earliest received "continuing notice" (or even just a regular notice) does not take me to the message referenced in the notification e-mail.

What do you do to avoid the circumstances I am describing? (and get to the proper "starting point" in reading?)

    Thank you.

That's a tougher question for me to answer. I believe that all of those links are supposed to take you to the first post you haven't read (based on your log-in time). If there are 10 new posts, and you've already read 5 of them, the software doesn't really know that. It knows there are 10 posts that are new since you've logged in, so it will keep taking you to the first of that 10, despite the fact you may have physically read some of them.
